What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk position at Lowcountry Eye Specialists?
Lowcountry Eye Specialists is currently accepting resumes for a full time position with our front office team.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering multi-line phone system, scheduling clinic or surgery appointments, verifying insurance, checking patients in and out, collecting co-payments, scanning medical records, fulfilling medical record requests and requesting medical clearances.
The preferred candidate will have medical office experience (preferably ophthalmology or optometry), have a good understanding of basic ophthalmic terminology, working knowledge of current HIPAA and OSHA policies and procedures, and a good understanding of South Carolina medical insurance plans, however we are willing to train a highly motivated candidate. Prior experience scheduling elective surgeries would be an asset.
Candidate must possess strong computer skills (Windows 10, MS Office 365 etc.), be experienced with Practice Management and/or Electronic Health Records software, and be comfortable using office equipment such as printers, scanners, copiers etc.
