Key Responsibilities:
Fulfillment Associates deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment. Their tasks include:
• Providing friendly and professional service to customers and associates.
• Ensuring merchandise is in good condition, accurately accounted for, and delivered to customers on time.
• Safely pulling merchandise for loading onto delivery trucks and helping customers and staff move merchandise safely.
Fulfillment Associates assist customers, delivery team members, and Installation Providers by pulling and preparing orders prior to pickup, replenishing shelves for the next customers, and loading merchandise into their vehicles. To meet customer needs, they engage in conversations with other associates to ensure correct products are delivered on time. The associate ensures that the right products are delivered to customers by accurately pulling, inspecting, and preparing merchandise for delivery or pickup, as well as verifying invoices against loaded products. Additionally, they ensure deliveries are ready upon truck arrival and assist with loading merchandise, including large appliances. Safety is crucial, as this associate frequently lifts and moves merchandise for staff and customers throughout their shift. Fulfillment Associates assigned to the Pro Department must be certified on Power Equipment (PE) within 30 days of their start date, specifically forklifts, pallet jacks, and electrical lifts.
Work Arrangements:
This role is typically hourly, full-time or part-time, with varying schedules based on the needs of the store. Employees may be required to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts any day of the week. They must also have the physical ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary job duties. The ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance is minimally required; lifting over 25 pounds may be necessary with or without assistance.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
• Basic arithmetic skills and the ability to read and write.
• At least six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
Preferred qualifications include:
• Six months of retail experience.
• Experience in customer service or product fulfillment positions at home improvement or hardware retailers in related departments.
• Experience inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.
