Lowell Catholic is seeking a dynamic, full-time Middle School Science Teacher (Grades 7-8).
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based unit plans that align with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and support diverse student learning needs.
Establish and uphold positive classroom routines and culture to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Utilize project-based learning and hands-on lab experiences to foster student curiosity and critical thinking.
Assess student progress through authentic science assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
Reflect on lessons, assessments, and teaching practices, making adjustments as needed for continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues through email, phone, and conferences.
Collaborate with department members, both in-person and via Google Drive, to enhance curriculum development and instructional practices.
Integrate technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
MA certification in Science (Grades 5-8) or ability to obtain certification.
Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning, project-based instruction, and laboratory investigations.
