Job Description
The Pediatrics Department Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and culturally appropriate care and services to our patients. The manager will work collaboratively with medical staff and other departments to ensure that the goals of the Health Center are accomplished. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide excellent customer service to all patients and staff; Develop and update departmental standard operating procedures; Manages the organization’s pediatric immunization inventory levels; Coach, mentor and teach staff to ensure that they performing to their highest potential;
Provide timely and relevant performance evaluations to staff in accordance with LCHC policy and supervisor expectations; Works with clinical lead to manage clinical workflow within the department; Work with departmental supervisors and leads to create and maintain appropriate staff and provider schedules; Establish an environment which fosters teamwork and open communication; Ensures that care coordination activities are being performed including obtaining documentation such as follow up of hospitalizations, ER visits, and other medical and behavioral documentation; Oversee the budget development and management of the department; Responsible for ensuring department achieves or surpasses visit volume and revenue projections.
Qualifications
The Department Manager will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare/public health related area or equivalent years of experience. Registered Nurses with current CPR certification encouraged to apply. A minimum of five to ten years of experience in an ambulatory or inpatient clinical setting is desirable. A minimum of five years of management experience is required. Experience with an electronic medical record system is also desired. Bi-lingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
