SUMMARY:
This position is for a Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician working collaboratively to provide HIV, sexually transmitted infection (STI), and viral hepatitis prevention, outreach, education, and support at the Lowell Community Health Center per the standards and guidance of the local and state regulation. Provide PrEP education, support and group facilitation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Registered pharmacy technician with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy. Minimum 1-2 years of retail, drug utilization review, or physician office management experience or 2 years of hospital experience required. Previous experience with 340B pharmacy and medication prior authorization process is preferred.
CPR/BLS Required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and write in English required. Bilingual Spanish/Khmer/Portuguese strongly
preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent contact with patients, families, visitors,?nurses?and other department staff.?Occasional requests to change work areas to cover another priority area to meet patient needs.?Occasional stress and pressure caused by multiple simultaneous demands.?May be exposed to various body fluids and/or infectious diseases. ?Universal precautions and techniques are included in orientation and the availability of protective wear is supported and encouraged when the employee is at risk for exposure.

- Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacist and pharmacy team to support individuals seeking and prescribed PrEP
- Collaborate with nurse in the treatment and vaccination of patients
- Provide direct support to individuals prescribed PrEP Provide HIV, STI, and HCV risk assessment and screening per the standards of local and
- Co-facilitate evidence based PrEP group
- Complete administrative work such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing results as assigned by team lead
- Collaborate with other prevention staff in prioritizing and meeting patient needs
- Facilitate and track supported referrals
- Provide outreach and recruitment as regulated by funder (Includes offsite, including field outreach)
- Facilitate nasal Narcan distribution both onsite, through outreach and secondary
- Provide Pre-exposure Prophylaxis education and short-term navigation.
- Provide harm reduction education.
- Document services provided in patient’s EMR
- Complete all required documentation
- Complete monthly reporting
- Participate in monthly individual administrative supervision
- Participate in monthly group clinical supervision
