SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant is instrumental in maximizing dollars earned and received across our public and commercial payor contracts. To that end, the Staff Accountant will analyze and reconcile payor contracts and develop tracking and reporting mechanisms to spot financial opportunities. This role will be well versed in our payor contract goals and will be key a key player in ensuring our transition to value-based pay. The Staff Accountant will monitor payor contract receivables and monitor cash flow projections. This role will perform analysis by comparing budgeted rates to actual rates and forecast revenue across fiscal periods. The Staff Accountant will work seamlessly across Finance, Contracting and Staff teams and will be pivotal in Lowell CHCs success in the new ACO environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Review and track performance pay objectives against earned revenue
- Reconcile MassHealth prospective payment system (PPS) methodology and payments against per member per month (PMPM) methodology and payments
- Prepare journal entries supporting patient service revenue, allowances, and payments
- Prepare roll forwards, schedules and analysis of payor contract performance
- Prepare member and payor contract profit & loss statements
- Calculate and track unique patients, PMPM and visits, and forecast trends
- Assist in preparation of payor contract budgets
- Prepare monthly analysis of payor contract performance
- Assist on interface and financial reporting projects
BASIC OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science highly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Staff experience and/or revenue analysis strongly preferred.
