ASSIGNMENT
This is an extra-duty assignment. The athletic director shall be accountable to the building principal and the superintendent for the performance of duties. The athletic director must work cooperatively with all personnel concerned and lend leadership in the development and execution of the athletic program.
DUTIES
- Direct the cooperative efforts of all coaching personnel toward the common goal of well-trained teams playing within high standards of athletic competition and sportsmanship.
- Advise the administration as to the desirability of making changes, additions or deletions, to coaching assignments.
- Make recommendations and represent coaches concerning the athletic program and facilities required.
- Bring to the attention of the administration any action by participants or coaches that conflict with district policy.
- Schedule all athletic events.
- Arrange transportation for coaches and teams.
- Check eligibility of participants and make certification to O.S.A.A. and to opponent schools, when necessary.
- Secure timers and officials.
- Pay officials and obtain their signatures upon the proof of claim forms.
- Arrange for facilities and equipment to be ready for practices and games.
- Conduct coaches' meetings.
- Secure inventory records from each coach at the end of sport season.
- Assist coaches in the selection and purchase of sports equipment and supplies.
- Facilitate opportunities for medical examinations prior to participation.
- Secure parental permission for participation.
- To be present (or arrange for another administrator to be present) and enforce the policies, rules and regulations concerning coaches, athletes, spectators, officials and timers, during the time athletic events are in progress.
CONDITIONS:
- Extra-duty contract period is annual.
- Performance of assigned extracurricular duties will be included in the evaluation process.
- Periodic delegation of duties is permitted only as approved by the building principal and superintendent.
SALARY:
The extra-duty contract pay will be determined by the annual budgeted amount.
The amount due under the contract will be prorated monthly in accordance with district policy.
