THE POSITION
The Lowell School District is seeking an outstanding, highly qualified PE teacher, serving elemementary students at Lundy Elementary and Mountain View Academy.
POSITION SUMMARY
The chosen candidate will be working as a member of a team in the planning and implementation of instructional programs. A primary focus of the teachers will be to promote a high level of achievement for all students while considering the background and developmental level of the individual student. Additionally the candidates will be responsible for providing a positive learning environment in their classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The teacher will collaborate with school team members to enhance student movement and fitness, creating a student-centered classroom environment
- This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to engage students in physical education effectively
- Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for teaching all learners
- Create a student-centered classroom environment
- Facilitate students' physical, cognitive, and social-emotional learning through tailored lessons
- Provide engaging instruction that builds a foundation for health and wellness
- Teach physical fitness knowledge and skills using Oregon Core Standards
- Implement Oregon Core Standards with rigor and planning
- Ensure maximum participation for all students and differentiate instruction as needed
- Analyze, demonstrate, and explain basic skills and strategies of physical activities
- Develop engaging lesson plans and supplementary materials
- Provide ongoing formative feedback to students
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and support this development in students
- Communicate effectively with students in a sensitive manner
- Implement school-wide programs to promote health and wellness
- Collaborate with team members to increase health and wellness activities in the classroom
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior in physical education areas
- Collaborates to develop Individual Education Programs (IEP's).
- Evaluate academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records
- Communicate with parents and school staff regarding student progress
- Focus on making learning visible through effective student engagement
- Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with building administrators and staff, cooperating to resolve problems in a professional manner so that the concerns of all parties are considered.
- Takes precautions to provide for health and safety of the students and to protect equipment, material, and facilities.
- Assists the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Achieves professional growth through consultation with District support staff and attendance at building and District in-service meetings.
- Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and District.
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Oregon Elementary Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure by start date.
- Endorsement in K12 Physical Education or ability to obtain endorsement by start date.
- Fluent in oral and written English communication.
SALARY
- Will be determined by terms of the current negotiated agreement.
- The amount due under the contract will be pro-rated monthly in accordance with district policy.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
