Lowell School, a progressive school of approximately 315 students in NW Washington, DC, seeks a Camp Support Coordinator. The Camper Support Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all campers. This individual is responsible for managing camper behavior, facilitating conflict resolution, and providing emotional and social support to ensure a positive camp experience. The ideal candidate is empathetic, resourceful, and skilled in working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. This role is anticipated to be 35-40 hours per week.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp, educational, or recreational setting.
- Familiarity with behavior management and conflict resolution techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing situations.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
