Job Summary
*SPANISH FLUENCY REQUIRED* - Your interview will be conducted in Spanish to ensure competency. Please do NOT apply if you are not competent in Spanish. A majority of our patients speak Spanish and you will be responsible for communicating with them both in person and over the phone.
We are seeking a motivated, driven, and friendly Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. We are a small, compassionate team at a private clinic. Expected hours 32 per week (taking into account breaks/lunch) ; exact hours per week may vary, depending on if you are willing to work Saturday mornings (9AM - 1PM).
This role involves accurately performing clinical tasks, collecting patient histories, correctly entering patient information, assisting healthcare professionals with simple procedures, and helping to create a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Administer injections, draw blood (phlebotomy), perform rapid testing such as COVID tests, and other basic in-clinic medical procedures.
- Start IV catheters (can train on-site).
- Maintain accurate patient records and correctly document patient encounters and procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring comfort during visits.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- You may be expected to take patient payments, answer the phone, or scan documents in case our receptionist is briefly away from her desk.
Skills
- Proficiency in performing vital signs assessments and phlebotomy.
- Start IVs and monitor patient receiving IV transfusions.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology to assist in patient care effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
