We are seeking a Chemist I to join an outstanding environmental laboratory team that operates in a high-production facility receiving water quality samples from across the state! You are an ideal candidate if you enjoy working in laboratory setting, collaborating in a team environment while having individual assigned duties. You will perform a variety of analytical testing including Carbamate pesticide analysis using HPLC, and Organic analysis using GC and GC-MS. You will work directly with the Organic team daily, communicate any sample/production issues to senior staff and the supervisor, and at times cross-train and provide support in other areas of the laboratory. You will be trusted to:
- Prepare analytical reagents and solutions
- Prepare analytical calibration standards
- Perform sample preparation/analysis for various EPA and standard method methodology.
- Create/Load analytical sample results into a Laboratory Information Management System
- Perform analysis using GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and UPLC-MSMS.
You qualify with:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Experience in performing analytical preparation and/or analysis of samples in a laboratory setting
You are a great fit with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental science, physical sciences, or engineering with 12 or more college semester credit hours in chemistry, or two or more years of experience as an analyst (or equivalent position) in a laboratory.
