Join our team at Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) as a Manager of Transmission Interconnections Services in our Transmission Planning department. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead a team of engineers who support and facilitate the interconnection of new power generation and large load projects to the grid.
You will be trusted to:
- Lead and manage LCRA TSC's load and generation interconnection queue, ensuring a flawless process from start to finish
- Coach, and mentor power system engineers who perform Interconnection Studies in compliance with ERCOT and NERC reliability standards
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of ERCOT and NERC reliability standards, interconnection rules and regulations, and modeling practices.
- Collaborate closely with internal transmission planning, engineering, and project management teams to successfully implement interconnection projects
- Create detailed reports and summaries of technical findings to facilitate effective communication within the organization.
- Take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the department and the organization
You qualify with:
- Twelve years of experience in engineering including experience providing leadership in engineering or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in math, computer science, engineering, or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license
You are a great fit with:
- A valid Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas,
- Working knowledge of power systems software packages such as PSSE, TARA, and PSCAD, enabling you to effectively analyze and model complex systems
- Experience integrating large loads, such as data centers and crypto mining centers, as well as distributed energy resources, showcasing your ambition and ability to tackle diverse challenges
- Familiarity with IBR modeling and related issues, allowing you to contribute valuable insights to the team
