LCRA is looking for a Safety Specialist to join our team. As a part of the Safety Services Group, you will work with the Water Operations / Water Resources & Community Resources teams to provide continuous improvements in safety through acting as a liaison between leadership, frontline workers, contractors, and our customers. You are an ideal candidate for this role if you can act as a safety leader while possessing the ability to collaborate and build relationships within the utility operating units. We are a team that thrives on identifying practical safety solutions for our organization and are committed to improving safety processes within the LCRA organization.
You will be trusted to :
- Develop competence through structured work assignments and guidance from supervisor, manager, and / or more experienced colleagues.
- Assist and conduct safety meetings for Water Services
- Review and edit safety programs to conform with most current federal regulations
- Perform work by traveling independently or with other staff to various locations (dams. environmental lab, water systems, etc.) as scheduled
- Perform field hazard assessments and provide safety consultation to LCRA customers
- Schedule, assist and conduct safety orientation / training to LCRA customers
