Ready to join a team that truly makes an impact on the lives of fellow Texans? Our Safety Team is looking for a Utility Safety Specialist to help serve our Enterprise teams. In this role, you will monitor, review and evaluate contractors' safety performances, including conducting field safety evaluations and observations, tracking contractor incidents, and responding, as necessary, to ensure compliance. Our ideal candidate has strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong technical and organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize work, be self-sufficient in their work, and will strive for excellence in all areas of their work, exemplifying LCRA's core values : service, initiative, respect, integrity, and safety.
You will be trusted to :
- Monitor, review, evaluate and report on contractor safety performance
- Maintain the contractor safety management system and oversee the contractor safety program
- Develop, review and update the contractor safety performance and metrics, ensuring clear communication of safety requirements
- Plan and host the monthly and annual contractor safety meetings and participate in contractor orientations, roundtables, and regional meetings
- Oversee contractor safety and provide safety & health insights
- Assist in the onboarding, ongoing support, and offboarding of contractors
- Perform incident investigations. including documentation, tracking and reporting
- Travel may be required to various locations (power plants, right of ways, dams, water systems, etc.), potentially including overnight stays as scheduled.
