Substation Electrician IIFT / PT : Full-time Regular / Project / Seasonal : Regular Location : San Angelo, TX City : San Angelo State : Texas Categories : Operations / Maintenance (Power, Water, Transmission, Telecom), On-siteLCRA is looking for a Transmission Substation Electrician to join our team! As a part of our maintenance team, you will maintain the critical infrastructure of the San Angelo district. We're looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to perform electrical work in high voltage substations including maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, adjusting, installation and / or removal of transmission, distribution equipment. This position requires knowledge and experience in the field but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. If this sounds like you, apply now!You will be trusted to : Install, maintain, remove, inspect, tests and repair electrical circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring.Observe and inspect equipment and structures to detect potential electrical issues.Perform routine preventative maintenance and general upkeep of substation, control houses and transmission lines.Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, consults manuals and parts list.Keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate.Operate handheld manual tools and power tools in performing tasks.Operate and transport equipment such as bucket trucks, boom trucks, forklifts, skid steers, UTV, and other various equipment.May perform low-voltage and high-voltage switching according to standard procedures and in coordination with system operations.Be able to perform after-hour and weekend callouts to investigate alarms and issues in substations and on transmission linesYou qualify with : One or more years of experience in maintenance and / or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and / or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.Drivers LicenseYou are a great fit with : Successful completion through Level I of the Substation Electrician ProgramMust obtain Class A Texas commercial drivers license within one year (365 days) of hire as a condition of employment.You gain : Competitive salary and medical, dental, vision and legal insurancePaid time off, including time for vacation, sick and family care leave401(k) match up to 8% that includes a student loan 401(k) contribution program optionLife and disability insuranceWellness program including wellness incentive-Extensive learning and development programsAnd more - all to create a compelling and rewarding work environment.Equal Opportunity EmployerLCRA provides equal employment opportunities and a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
