At a Glance! At a Glance! Lower Columbia College is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Early Achievers Grant Bilingual External Program Contact. The primary work of this position occurs in the field, performing outreach in the local community. This position is responsible for developing partnerships with local educational organizations to recruit potential grant recipients by providing materials, information and support to diverse candidates that reflect the local community. Multicultural outreach and recruitment activities are focused on historically underrepresented student populations, including communities of color and low-income communities. Total hours for this position are 10-20 hours per month. (This is an Adjunct/Special Contract as this is classified as an adjunct but is a non-teaching role.)
The focus of the Early Achiever’s Grant is to provide training to individuals currently employed in an Early Learning setting. Learn more about the Washington State Early Achiever’s Grant.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Attend outreach events and opportunities in collaboration with the primary program contact and early childhood education faculty.
- Strengthen partnerships with provider organizations in the area to be aware of and responsive to community needs.
- Make referrals to the primary program contact who supports students with the college’s grant application and processes.
- Recruit a pool of potential grant recipients from family home childcare businesses, child care centers, and Head Start/Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) programs that reflect the diversity of the local provider community and the children they serve.
- Share information about LCC’s Early Childhood certificate and degree programs.
- Attend quarterly Early Achievers program and related orientation meetings.
- Effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as a member of the educational team.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Pass the Portable Background Check through MERIT.
- Current negative TB test or equivalent.
- Proof of adult MMR vaccination.
- Effective communication skills (verbal & written).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and desire to create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in early childhood education or related field.
- Knowledge of Longview/Kelso region and community resources.
- Knowledge of Lower Columbia College Early Childhood and related educational certification and degree programs.
