At a Glance! Lower Columbia College is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, competent registered nurse for an adjunct nursing faculty position. This position would be responsible for providing instructional support for nursing and allied health students in skills and / or simulation labs and clinical settings, as well as providing instruction for designated clinical courses.
The Lower Columbia College Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and prepares approximately 115 graduates each year for registered nurse licensure.
- Lecture rate is $78.33 per contact hour ($861.63 per credit).
Lab rate is $58.33 per contact hour ($1,283.26 per credit).
Field-based experience rate is $42.37 per contact hour ($1,398.21 per credit).
Quarterly salary is paid at the current lab rate, plus a nursing faculty retention stipend (equal to 20.666% for 24-25 academic year), per the current LCCFAHE Bargaining Agreement.

Create and maintain an effective learning environment.

Provide quality instruction in various settings (classroom, practicum sites, simulation and skills lab) adapting to a variety of teaching / learning situations.

Provide academic advising to students.
Fulfill Washington state vocational certification requirements.
Establish and maintain office hours; be available for student consultation.
Perform ongoing student, program and college assessment activities.
Participate in program, department and college activities and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Active, unencumbered registered nurse licensure in Washington State (or multi-state license {MSL} approved by Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Expertise and clinical practice in medical / surgical nursing.
Successful completion of background clearance.
Proof of required immunizations and negative drug screen per clinical agency requirements after hire.
Commitment to serve the needs of a diverse student body representing a wide range of ages, abilities, ethnicities, education levels, and cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Requirements
Expertise in using a Learning Management System such as Canvas.
Experience in curriculum development and instructional assessment.

Adjunct faculty must work two (2) consecutive quarters at 50% or more of full time academic load in order to qualify for benefits (based on instructional hours only). Once determined to be eligible, benefits begin on the first day of the month following the beginning of the quarter. Medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance benefits are provided as currently administered by the Public Employees Benefits Board. Participation in one of the retirement plans is mandatory. The two plans are the State Board Retirement Plan administered through TIAA-CREF and TRS Plan 3 through the Department of Retirement Systems. Adjuncts who teach at other Washington State Community & Technical colleges and are actively contributing to retirement there may contribute to retirement at LCC.
Paid Leave
Adjunct faculty employed on adjunct and / or quarterly contracts shall earn sick leave based on their contracted FTE multiplied by seven (7) for each month they are in active teaching status.
Adjunct academic employees shall have four (4) days of personal leave available from July 1 through June 30. No more than (2) days may be used per quarter. Adjunct faculty also receive paid jury duty leave.

Theis a state licensed program that offers high quality childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry to students, staff and faculty.
