At a Glance: The Security Guard 1 will join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining the safety and security of campus buildings, grounds, and individuals. By ensuring that all security practices respect and support the diverse needs of our campus community, this position will contribute to an environment where everyone feels safe and valued. This role also involves interaction with various campus groups and external agencies, further supporting LCC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Who you are: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with strong knowledge of security protocols. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in emergency response or conflict resolution. A background in law enforcement, firefighting/EMS, or similar fields, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and contribute to maintaining a safe environment, is preferred but not required. The Security Guard will be responsible for patrolling, inspecting buildings and grounds and enforcing rules of behavior. The hours will vary based on need and availability, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is categorized as a Security Guard 1, under State of Washington Class Specification. The Security Guard 1 position is 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is 8:00 am- 5:00 pm.
