Overview
The Receptionist/ Unit Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare services within a clinical setting. This position involves a combination of administrative support and patient interaction, making it essential for maintaining high standards of patient service and efficient office management. The Receptionis/Unit Clerk will work closely with medical staff, patients, and transportation providers to facilitate effective communication and ensure compliance with health regulations. THE RECEPTIONIST/UNIT CLERK MUST HAVE THE ABILITIY TO SPEAK, READ AND WRITE ENGLISH, CANTONESE AND MANDARIN.
Duties
- Provide exceptional patient service by greeting patients and their families, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- File/scan documents in patient charts and folders
- Assist patients with completing forms
- Assist patients with English documents and correspondence
- Provide translation for MDs and other non-Cantonese and non-Mandarin speaking staff
- Provide liaison services for transportation problems
- Distribute monthly metro cards
- Performs duties of Receptionist
- Scheduling and coordinating diagnostic and ancillary services as ordered by the physician
- Coordinate appointments for patients referred to physician specialists
- Facilitate the transfer and admission of patients to hospital as directed by physician
- Responsible for the placement and orientation of transient patients
- Interface with all departments to facilitate the admission of new patients
- Acts as interdepartmental liaison
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Skills
- Strong understanding of patient service principles and ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role within a clinic setting is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders in the healthcare setting.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
