Position Summary: The Water Resource Technician works out of the NRD office in Wahoo Nebraska and assists with water programs under the direction of the Water Resources Manager.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist as needed with the following programs:
- Chemigation
- Flow Meter Maintenance
- Water Level Monitoring
- Water Quality Monitoring
- Water Use Reports
- Nitrogen Application Reports
- Well Permits, Variances, Acre Certification
- Water Quality Management Areas
- Quantity Management Areas
- Producer Certifications
- Cost-Share
- Database Management
- Irrigation Run-Off
2. Perform other district related duties or special projects as assigned by NRD Management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with preference given to Associates and Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources or Agricultural Related Fields.
- Within one year of employment, ability to obtain and keep a Natural Resource Water Technician license.
- Basic math skills and proficient computer skills.
- Ability to enter data within a database with accuracy and compile accurate reports for NRD management, committee/board or public.
- Ability to present information in a public setting.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable in Nebraska.
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, ability to climb bend and stoop, ability to work in outdoor temperature extremes, ability to walk on uneven terrains, regular and reliable attendance.

Working Environment:
Seasonal outdoor work in an environment with exposure to outdoor elements or hazards, including adverse conditions such as heat, cold, sun, dust, and pollen. Will also require indoor office work such as data base entry.
