What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR SPECIALIST I position at Lower Rio Grande Valley D?
Performs entry-level human resources management work. Work involves assisting in the administration of a human resources management program and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Support traditional HR areas of employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, payroll and full cycle recruiting. Files documents, upload files and records into our HRIS/Payroll systems. Develop and maintain strong partner relationships with managers and supervisors. Participate on project teams supporting implementation of HR programs and initiatives. Analyze human resource data, identify trends, and develop recommendations for solutions. Review and monitor HR processes, policies, and procedures and propose changes or updates as needed. Provide support to the HR team and organizational leaders. Prepares routine human resources correspondence and reports. Leverages technology for efficiency and proficient in all programs of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel. Strong attention to detail with a high level of organization and an ability to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines and keep others informed of work progress. Screens telephone calls and greets visitors to the department; routes calls and directs visitors to appropriate staff; sets appointments and maintain the calendars for department activities. Posts job vacancies, receives employment applications and screens applications. Maintain highly confidential and sensitive information. May assist with public presentations and job fair events. Performs related work as assigned.
