As we continue to strengthen our program, we are seeking a Director of Player & Coach Development and dedicated coaches who share our commitment to player development, teamwork, and making hockey accessible to all.
Position: Director of Player & Coach Development

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee coaching staff and player development across 8U-18U teams.
Recruit, mentor, and support coaches to ensure a consistent coaching philosophy.
Ensure coach certification compliance, mentoring, and professional development.
Develop, review and implement structured training programs and practice plans for all age groups.
Serve as Head Coach for one team, providing direct on-ice leadership.
Act as a key point of contact for parents, players and Board of Directors, fostering positive relationships.
Design and lead on-ice skills training and practice planning to maximize player development.
Lead and manage player evaluations and tryouts to ensure fair and competitive team placements.
Enhance player retention and recruitment strategies to support program growth.
Ensure compliance with USA Hockey and league regulations for player and coach development.
Provide updates to the Board of Directors on hockey operations and player development.
Provide additional coaching support at games or practices as needed to ensure continuity in player development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Extensive hockey coaching & leadership experience (USA Hockey Level 4 preferred).
Experience managing a youth hockey program is preferred.
Strong mentorship and leadership skills to guide coaches and players.
Experience with player evaluations, recruiting, fundraising and development programs.
Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
Expert knowledge of USA Hockey ADM model and development pathways.
Compensation:
Independent Contractor (1099 position).
Seasonal work from July through April.
Estimated $40,000 compensation based on part-time seasonal workload.
Bonus incentives for recruiting, retention and fundraising achievements.

Coaching Responsibilities:
Develop and execute structured practice plans aligned with player development goals.
Provide individual and team skill development, focusing on fundamentals and hockey IQ.
Foster a positive and competitive environment, ensuring all players develop to their fullest potential.
Work closely with the Director of Hockey to ensure program-wide consistency in coaching.
Encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while representing NRLH.
Qualifications & Skills:
USA Hockey Coach Certification required.
Previous coaching or high-level playing experience preferred.
Strong communication skills with players, parents, and fellow coaches.
Passion for teaching and developing youth hockey players.
Compensation:
Independent Contractor (1099 position).
Competitive coaching stipends available based on experience.
