Summary:
The Lown Group is seeking a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant with a passion for high-quality customer service, attention to detail, and the desire for professional development. This position reports to the Practice Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Welcome patients and visitors in person and on the telephone, appropriately address or refer their inquiries and concerns with an eye toward optimal patient satisfaction.
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor at all times.
Optimize provider time, maintaining awareness of clinic flow and notifying providers of cancellations or delays.
Manage physician/s schedules and understand MD preferences for bookings.
Obtain new patient questionnaires before appointments for MD review.
Assist patients with coordination and navigation of care across different health care systems.
Maintain reception area in a tidy and organized manner.
Obtain, record, and update personal and financial information in accordance with HIPAA.
Collect and record patient co-payments.
Perform office administrative tasks such as document scanning, spreadsheet tracking, reminder calls,
Use computer software and office equipment (fax machines, copiers, etc.)
Qualifications:
Excellent customer relation skills and patient needs orientation.
Must be willing and able to multi-task.
Ability to identify emergent situations, formulate solutions, and execute such with minimum direction from supervisor.
Must have excellent attention to details and time management skills.
Must have basic computing, typing, and telephone etiquette skills.
Must be facile with Windows and MS-Word and other Microsoft Office applications; specialized online medical technologies, instant messaging, and the Internet.
At least 6 months’ experience working in a hospital, clinic or other medical setting strongly preferred.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work alone and within a team effectively.
Must have respectful, courteous, and professional attitude.
Ability to make sound decisions and judgment.
Outstanding prioritization and organizational techniques.
Previous EMR experience strongly preferred. EPIC is a plus, but not required.
