PCA Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary for their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various medical settings, including geriatrics, outpatient care, and emergency medicine, among others.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Help with mobility and transfers to ensure client safety and comfort.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
• Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications as prescribed and assist with basic health monitoring (e.g., blood pressure checks).
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional guidance.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress.

Requirements

• Must be 35-45 years of age
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred (medical-surgical, outpatient, hospital medicine, emergency medicine).
• Knowledge of geriatric care practices is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with client.
• Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
