What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Loyola Academy?
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience as a School Psychologist/Faculty leader and experience supporting students with learning disabilities
- Experience as a collaborator on teams with other teachers
- Experience reading and interpreting neuropsychology evaluations, 504, and IEP plans
- Experience conducting assessments to identify student learning needs
- Master’s Degree in School Psychology or equivalent certificate/license preferred
- Organization and high attention to detail is essential
- Strong and effective communication skills are essential
- Act as the Loyola Academy’s primary point of contact and support for student learning needs, Loyola Academy’s School Psychologist
- Reports to the Associate Principal for Student Success.
- Serves on the Tier 2 & 3 Counseling Team, O’Shaughnessy, Student Success and MTSS/RTI teams
- Instructs and supports students individually and small groups as necessary.
- Serves as the primary contact for families seeking accommodations:
- Conducts, reads, interprets, assesses, and communicates the results of psycho-educational diagnosis to school personnel and parents through conferences and written reports
- Assess the psycho-educational testing submitted to Loyola for incoming and current students to determine the academic support Loyola Academy can provide the student.
- Create Academic Achievement Plans for all students who receive academic accommodations at Loyola Academy.
- Conduct annual meetings to review the academic progress of all students who receive academic accommodations and make changes to plans as needed.
- Communicate students’ Academic Achievement Plans and approved accommodations with appropriate faculty and identify how their learning differences manifest in the classroom.
- Review the need to offer additional accommodations at Loyola Academy
- Oversee the requests, submit applications and appeals for accommodations to ACT and College Board for students who receive academic accommodations at Loyola Academy
