- Cultivates, maintains, and collaborates with the ISLE team in assessing service engagements with our immersion community partners aiming for mission reciprocity that is mutually beneficial
- Designs, leads, and facilitates meaningful reflection before, during, and after service experiences, and develops student leadership to be able to share their experiences with the wider community including curricular and extracurricular experiences.
- Helps expose students to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, and Ignatian Spirituality focusing on service and social justice issues through initiatives, discussions, and experiences that ignite their passion for the care of others and social justice.
- Maintains, supports, and shares their own faith life and spiritual development around the central role of service in the mission of Loyola Academy.
- Develops an adult chaperone training program that includes the spiritual, social, legal, and logistical facets of effective leadership.
- Plans and maintains the financial budget for service immersions, issues stipends, and keeps detailed records.
- Supports ISLE team in the coordination of the Ignatian Family Teach-In, the Jesuit Day of Service, the Arrupe Leader Summit, and the Spring “Putting Love in Action” Symposium and other efforts as needed.
- Works with the communications and student activities departments to ensure service is highlighted regularly on the school’s social media and publications.
- Supports the Advancement office to provide options for alumni and parent service opportunities.
- Completes various duties as assigned by the Director of Ignatian Service Learning and Engagement and/or the Vice President of Mission, Ministry, and Identity.
- Bachelor's degree in education, theology, or the social sciences; Master's degree in pastoral ministry or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing and facilitating collaborative team initiatives, volunteer engagement, partner development, project management, and program development.
- Strong organizational skills & experience using technology to sign up, track, communicate and track student engagement (Blackbaud, Mobileserve, Learnworlds, signup.com) a necessity.
- Demonstrated active and sustained personal commitment of doing service and volunteering to communities on the margin.
- Must understand the systemic context and the daily lived experience of migrant, refugee, unhoused, indigenous, and food insecure individuals and communities.
- Experience with the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, Experiential Learning Practices, multicultural and intercultural education, and Ignatian Spirituality is a plus.
- Multilingual, specifically Spanish-speaking, candidates preferred.

SUPERVISOR: Director of Ignatian Service Learning & Engagement
Loyola Academy seeks a mission-focused professional for the role of Service Immersion Coordinator in the Office of Ignatian Service Learning & Engagement (ISLE).
SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, exempt, 12-month, student-facing, staff position with responsibilities during and after the school day, on weekends, and during school breaks, including some overnight commitments.
The primary responsibility of the Service Immersion Coordinator will be to design, plan, lead, and assess transformational immersion service educational experiences, building a program that will include offerings during summer break, over weekends, during specially designated school days, and during other school breaks. Central to this work is Loyola Academy’s mission of facilitating for its stakeholders experiences of “serving for and with others” as a means and outcome of the Ignatian call to Christian discipleship. The Service Immersion Coordinator will be a key collaborator on the ISLE team to facilitate and bring about the vision of the Office of Ignatian Service Learning and Engagement and the President’s Strategic Vision to revitalize service programming. These immersion experiences will include local, national, and international experiences. While focusing primarily on student experiences it will also include training of adult leaders as well as immersion experiences for faculty and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

WORKING HOURS
The standard working week is 40 hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, there will be weeks when evening and weekend work and travel to and from service sites in the field are required. In some instances, hours during the week can be reduced. A schedule will be reviewed in arrangement with the supervisor. Days off (for example, scheduled school holidays) may be transferred at the discretion of the supervisor.
