Job Description:
The Bookstore Manager plans, organizes, and directs the operation of the Loyola Blakefield school store on a part-time basis. This position will be responsible for all aspects of bookstore operations including inventory and sales management, on-line sales, financial controls, and budget management. This job will involve after-school and evening work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the purchases and sales of school apparel and general merchandise.
- Develops and implements retailing policies including pricing, sales, margins, and product mix, while maintaining a priority of serving the needs of school community.
- Maintains operating and accounting records, including cash reconciliation, sales and inventory reports, invoice approvals, returns and refunds.
- Develops and implements bookstore operating procedures and recommends appropriate related policies.
- Manages the operating budget of the school store.
- Coordinate online sales.
- Coordinate school store activities with other departments at the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Experience working in a retail management position.
- Ability to plan and organize retail operations to meet operational objectives in accordance with school goals.
- Ability to work effectively with both internal and external constituents.
- Strong working knowledge of point of sales technology.
- Excellent customer service with strong attention to detail.
