Position Description

Title: Director of Campaign Operations

Status: 12-Month, Full-Time (Contracted position reviewed annually and up to two years in duration)

Department: Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations

Reporting to: Chief Advancement Officer

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)

Some occasional nights and weekends as necessary

Compensation: $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and preferred total benefits package.

Job Description:

The Director of Campaign Operations will oversee the execution of Loyola Blakefield’s endowment campaign, ensuring all aspects of planning, preparation, and logistics align with our goals. The Director will manage the research, identification, and qualification of donor prospects while collaborating with leadership, staff, and volunteers to cultivate, solicit, and steward benefactors. Additionally, the Director may identify, write, report, and steward grant opportunities with foundations, corporations, and other charitable organizations to support the campaign.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement logistical activities for successful support of the campaign:
    • Prepare prospect briefings for the President, Chief Advancement Officer, members of the Campaign Executive Committee, and other staff as appropriate. This includes researching biographies and providing documentation as necessary.
    • Serve as the primary researcher for the department, conducting donor research, preparing profiles of donors and prospects and identifying future prospects to contribute to the school’s campaign using various research tools including Research Point, Wealth Engine, internet research databases, and print publications.
    • Manage and track metrics for stewardship/moves management initiatives.
    • Assist in researching/identifying, writing, and reporting for grant opportunities.
    • Provide necessary administrative support to the Chief Advancement Officer and Campaign Executive Committee.
    • Coordinate logistics for all Campaign Executive Committee meetings and other campaign activities including scheduling rooms; making parking and audiovisual arrangements; ordering refreshments; sending invitations, preparing agendas, generating talking points, and other reports. 
    • Assist Campaign Executive Committee, Chief Advancement Officer, and President by scheduling appointments and arranging travel to meet with campaign prospects
    • Coordinate special events related to the campaign.
    • Preparing and providing the Chief Advancement Officer, President and members of the Campaign Executive Committee with campaign reports, statistical analyses and other material as needed
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Team, Director of Stewardship, and Database Manager to enter new constituent data into Raiser’s Edge, adhering to department guidelines.
    • Coordinate marketing and key communications initiatives to steward donors, volunteers and prospects.  
    • Manage donor recognition including tracking named gift opportunities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned in support of Loyola Blakefield’s advancement efforts.

Skills and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required plus five or more years of demonstrated, professional experience and increased responsibility for a nonprofit organization, preferably a Catholic or independent school or in higher education with emphasis on campaign experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and database programs. Proficiency with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong research and analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills, with experience in public speaking, supporting leadership and Board members, and managing multiple projects effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Positive, creative, proactive, solution-oriented temperament is required.
