Reporting to the Office of the SVP, the Project Manager for Marketing, Communications, and External Relations (MarComm) at Loyola Marymount University will lead and manage MarComm’s participation in high-profile university events and strategic projects. This position is a highly visible, centralized role tasked with coordinating and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes. The Project Manager will work closely with the Office of the SVP and colleagues across MarComm, and the university at large, creating workback schedules, maintaining project documentation, managing resources, and running cross-functional meetings to ensure seamless planning, execution, and completion of assigned projects. They will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of multiple projects by leading, guiding, and mentoring project teams. The Project Manager will be responsible for fulfilling projects on time and within budget, meeting the necessary quality standards, and aligning with the university’s goals and values.
Position Specific Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Lead MarComm’s project management efforts for high-profile recurring university events and strategic initiatives including Commencement, Convocation, Christmas, Anniversaries / Commemorations, ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.
- Guide cross-departmental teams, setting and managing objectives and expectations, timelines, meetings, and project deliverables.
- Serve as a liaison between MarComm and other university departments, fostering strong working relationships to support successful project execution.
- Identify project needs, define objectives, and monitor and communicate progress regularly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop project strategies that align with MarComm’s and LMU’s goals, ensuring consistency in branding and communication efforts.
- Manage risks, anticipate challenges, and identify solutions to keep projects on track.
- Prepare and present regular project updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Drive informed post-mortem conversations, leveraging project data to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all project deliverables adhere to LMU’s mission, vision, and values.

Requisite Qualifications
Reasonable Expected Salary - $80,000 - $85,000. Salary offer commensurate with education and experience.
