Loyola University Preschool is seeking an experienced teacher for one of our Preschool classrooms. We are a small, private center on the Loyola Campus in Rogers Park serving both Loyola faculty and staff, and the surrounding community. We are committed to best practices in early childhood and strive to meet every child’s individual needs. Our enrolled families reflect the diversity of our neighborhood and together form a kind group of engaged parents who enjoy coming together for potlucks and parent events. The Preschool is open year-round and has monthly in-service days throughout the year for trainings, staff meetings, classroom prep time, and teambuilding. Classrooms also have daily prep time for curriculum planning and team meetings when all staff are present.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to preschool-aged children
- Foster a nurturing and safe classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share best practices in early childhood education
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions among students
Education Requirements:
Minimum of an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum 2 years full-time teaching experience with children ages 3-5.
Position Schedule Details:
We are open from 7:45am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday, and 8:30am-4:30pm on professional development days. We value work-life balance and know that in taking care of ourselves it will translate to the health and wellbeing of our children and families. All staff members work 37.5 hours per week (8.5 hour day with a 1hr lunch break) and have generous vacation, sick, and personal days, which are covered by our floating teachers.
Salary & Benefits:
We will provide the right candidate with:
- Salary commensurate with experience ($20.50-$25.75/hr for Assistant Teachers, $48K-$60K for Lead Teachers)
