Job Summary
The Technical Specialist- Lab Core is a key resource to both Gottlieb and MacNeal Hospital Laboratory within Blood Bank. This position will be responsible for departmental operations, engaging with clinical partners, and participating in Trauma, ED, Risk and Nursing Leadership Meetings.About the Position
This role requires experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting through education or work experience.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the medical director, manager, and faculty in developing new procedures or programs.
- Evaluate, validate, and implement new instrumentation and procedures.
- Develop written procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and support new instrumentation and test methodologies.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science Program.
- Certified Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or specialty certificate (ASCP or AMT).
- 3-5 years of Blood bank or job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Meets CLIA requirements for a general supervisor (B.S. degree and 1 year clinical experience, or MS degree and 1 year clinical experience).
