What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLIN ENG SPEC EQUIP TECH II position at Loyola University Health System?
Provides emergency and routine service requests for biomedical devices and systems to assure that equipment functions according to specifications.
- Provides installation, inspection and periodic maintenance of biomedical devices and systems to insure the equipment is safe, performs according to specifications and complies with local, state, federal and JACHO requirements.
- Provides assistance in maintaining the records of all equipment services performed by the Clinical Engineering Department by documenting the results of all work performed.
- Monitors work done by outside contractors to assure performance according to contractual commitments and that results are documented.
- Demonstrates and explains correct biomedical equipment operation to physicians, staff and students to assure that equipment is operated safely and correctly. Assists the Manager or Director of Clinical Engineering with other duties as assigned.
- Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital operations.
- Notifies equipment users and Clinical Engineering Management of repair status and delays as necessary.
- Performs Corrective Maintenance procedures including diagnosing problems using thermodynamic, electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or other related sciences and documents results of activities performed to comply with all regulatory and standards requirements.
- Provides on-call coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned. When deemed ready by both management and tech.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
- Required: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
- Specify Degree(s): Associates in Electronics or Biomedical TechnologY
Minimum Experience:
- Required: 3-5 year of previous job-related experience
- Preferred: 5 or more years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications:
- Other: Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician preferred
Compensation:
Pay rate: $44.88/hr per hour (per collective bargaining agreement)
