As a Health Information Management Specialist at Loyola University Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including record retrieval and processing, identity management, reporting, data integrity analysis, tracking and reporting, and performing quality audits.
Liaison roles involve intermediary functions with offsite storage and scanning vendors, point-of-care scanning, record retrieval and processing, patient financial services/denials release of information requests, scheduling external record audits, assisting customers & physicians, telephone coverage, mail sorting & organization.
You will also be responsible for identity reporting, data integrity review, master patient index maintenance, duplicate and overlay identification, merge and unmerge analysis, incorrect registrations and charting monitoring, Care Everywhere authorization and revocation management, communication within region and departments affected by chart corrections.
This position requires strong analytical skills to analyze deficiency tracking and reporting, monitor Dragon Medical One (Dictation), interact with providers to resolve documentation turnaround times and deficiency standards, investigate declined deficiencies and physician suspensions, communicate outstanding deficiencies to providers and department leaders.
You will perform quality audits based on Joint Commission standards, analyze documentation for various records including history & physicals and operative reports, ensure complete documentation before and after surgical procedures, create reports displaying documentation compliance for various committee meetings.
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure privacy and confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with HIPAA, follow departmental and hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical, legal and regulatory requirements.
