What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Project Advisor position at Loyola University - New Orleans?
The Project Advisor will assist the Project Director in the overall operations of the Loyola University New Orleans Upward Bound Program. Additionally, the Part-time Project Advisor will provide workshops to program participants and assist project participants with academic problems and college admissions.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Assist other Project Advisors in compiling and monitoring student advisement/counseling documentation.
- Act as liaison and program contact person with target school personnel.
- Conduct college information sessions and college placement efforts.
- Document participant progress and retention
- Conduct Financial Literacy and Career Workshops
- Plan Academic Year and Summer Component Activities
- Execute Academic Year and Summer Component Activities
- Manage participants during the on-campus Summer Component
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Director.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum four years of experience providing services for “disadvantaged” high school students.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Must be able to show evidence of managerial skills
- Skill and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and secondary school personnel.
- Ability to manage, secure, and maintain confidential information/documents.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or related fields preferred.
