The Public Health Program Director will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the Public Health Program at Loyola University New Orleans. This role involves overseeing the academic and operational functions of the program to ensure its success and alignment with the university's mission and goals. The Director will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to promote excellence in public health education and research.Key Responsibilities:

- Teaching:
- Three sections per semester from the following courses:
- Introduction to Public Health
- Healthcare Systems
- Epidemiology
- Three sections per semester from the following courses:
- Student Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Collaborate with Admissions to recruit new students into the Public Health Program.
- On-board new Public Health majors during summer orientation and as needed throughout the year.
- Academic Advising:
- Serve as the academic advisor for Public Health majors and minors, providing guidance on coursework and career paths.
- Internship and Career Opportunities:
- Arrange internships and networking opportunities for Public Health majors to gain practical experience.
- Faculty Coordination and Management:
- Schedule and manage meetings of faculty members on the Public Health Program Committee.
- Hire faculty as needed, potentially in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Conduct faculty evaluations and promote collaborative research between faculty and students.
- Course and Curriculum Development:
- Help develop new Public Health and adjunct courses in the program.
- Work across departments and colleges to ensure the availability of courses for students in the Public Health Program.
- Program Assessment and Reporting:
- Perform program assessments, prepare annual reports, and manage the Public Health Program through biennial SCAP evaluations, ensuring compliance with SACS requirements.
- Manage information in the University Bulletin concerning the Public Health Program.
- Staff Management:
- Hire staff as needed, potentially in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Supervise or co-supervise an Office Manager and work-study students.
- Budget Management:
- Manage the budget for the Public Health Program throughout each academic year.
- Community and Funding Engagement:
- Forge and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Seek grants and other sources of funding for the program and its students.
- Capstone Projects and Events:
- Oversee senior capstone projects, ensuring they meet academic and professional standards.
- Develop opportunities for campus events related to the program's mission, such as a speaker series.
- Program Promotion:
- Oversee the Public Health Program website and social media profile to ensure they accurately reflect the program’s activities and achievements.
- Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Ph.D. in Public Health is preferred
- Significant experience in academic administration, preferably in public health education.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial resources.
- Experience in faculty hiring, evaluation, and development.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants and other funding sources.
