Duties and Responsibilities	Manages Windows desktop environment utilizing various tools including Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM / MECM), WSUS, and AD. Manages Mac systems environment utilizing Jamf management system and tools including Composer, Jamf Imaging, Jamf remote. Creates, maintains, and updates standard images for University Windows and Mac workstations. Packages, configures, and installs core software packages in Windows and macOS environments. Creates documentation for application installation packages, imaging processes, and system maintenance processes. Manages Pharos pay-to-print systems. Adds, updates, and troubleshoots applications and User accounts in Apporto virtual desktop system. Manages application licensing servers. Escalates problems appropriately to vendors and other ITS resources. Logs, tracks, and updates incidents in issue problem log. Participates in and/or leads technical projects. Trains and mentor other Technicians on Desktop application delivery processes. Ensures high level of customer satisfaction, client relations, and quality standards. Performs other projects and responsibilities as required. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience	A minimum of a BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 2 years' experience in a desktop support or desktop engineering environment.
Qualifications	Education/Experience: A minimum of a BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 2 years experience in a desktop support or desktop engineering environment. Language Ability Excellent and persuasive communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively with external customers and providers, and internal clients at all levels of the University. Core consulting skills such as business writing and presenting, and analytic comparisons. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business processes, technical procedures, and user documentation. Ability to develop and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure documentation. Able to communicate technical ideas and concepts to non-technical audiences. Computation Ability: Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to understand and apply concepts such as resource utilization, work effort, percent to complete and project health. Reasoning Ability: Must be detail oriented, results focused, possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and be able to support change management initiatives. Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Generates creative solutions; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in both group and individual problem solving situations. Computer Skills	Experience with Microsoft Group Policy, Active Directory, SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Image creation. Experience with packaging software for centralized distribution. Experience with Jamf management system. Knowledge of Azure AD, Pharos Uniprint, Faronics DeepFreeze is a plus. Experience remotely configuring and reporting on Windows 10/11 and macOS computers. Experience with VM workstations. Competency in integrating peripherals with Desktop software. Ability to work in at least two common scripting languages such as: PowerShell, Bash, VBscript, AppleScript.
