Duties and Responsibilities
The Lab Technician will participate in (i) Study design and project planning in collaboration with Dr. Stuart and colleagues; (ii) Procuring tissue samples from museums and colleagues; (iii) Mitogenome preparation and assembly; (iv) eDNA sampling; (v) eDNA library preparation and sequencing at the Field Museum of Natural History; (vi) Potentially bioinformatic analysis; and (vii) Potentially supervision of undergraduates during eDNA work.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field. Preferred: Master's Degree.

Experience Required: 1 - 2 years of previous research experience in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology.
Qualifications
Applicants with at least an MS degree in Molecular Ecology, Ecological Genetics, Evolutionary Ecology, or a related field are preferred. Or, Applicants with a BS degree with equivalent experience with sequencing, generating genomes, and/or conducting eDNA research. The Applicant needs to have a valid Driver's License and be willing to drive a field vehicle.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
