Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Manager for Organizational Learning and Development will report to the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and support the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This role will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of professional development and training for employees across the University as part of the infrastructure for organizational growth and development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Use the Learning & Development DEI strategic priority as a guide for implementing learning & development programming, initiatives, and activities, to include developing and conducting virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with AVP, OIDEI to outline DEI Learning and Development roadmap for the OIDEI Team as well as University Faculty and Staff.
  • Collaborate with Departments and Units across the University in implementing a framework for learning and development.
  • Build & coordinate a professional development series for all Faculty and Staff that is aligned with the Learning & Development DEI strategic priority.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional DEI Data Analyst to assess outcomes and evaluate training efforts with data from Surveys, Focus Groups, and Feedback; Use findings to improve training and develop reports & recommendations.
  • Manage the planning and onsite execution of the Professional Development series across the Chicagoland campuses.
  • Partner with Schools/Units on the development and delivery of custom Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) training requests.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of professional development training volunteers and Racial Justice, Equity, Antiracism, Diversity, Inclusive Excellence (READI) Coaches.
  • Develop and manage communication channels related to Learning & Development (L&D) to include website, newsletter, and social media.
  • Create online and offline marketing materials to support L&D efforts.
  • Identify and manage Consultant relationships related to L&D efforts.
  • Create educational and professional development content aligned with DEI learning and development strategy.
  • Support other OIDEI events, initiatives, and activities as needed.

Skills:

  • Competence in the practice of Organizational Development and how to structure a culture for adult learning.
  • Proven experience with building systems that promote a culture of organizational learning.
  • Competence in the practice of Change Management and how to change systems in the pursuit of growth and improvement.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with individuals across various roles and identities within and outside an organization in order to meet targeted outcomes,
  • Competence in program development, such as Professional Development or training, in response to organizational needs.
  • Collaborative and well-organized.
  • Experience with the practice of Project Management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the University.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree in related field; Master's Degree strongly preferred. At least three to five years of related experience and/or training.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years as a Training Coordinator, Project Manager, and/or support experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Commitment to and deep understanding of issues of Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education, including Access, Equity, and Social Justice.
  • Ability to work with individuals from a wide range of cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds.
  • Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation/presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Adult Learning, Higher Education, or related field.
  • Experience with Project Management software.
  • Ability to build workshops or professional development on topics in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Anti-racism, including but not limited to Anti-Bias Training, Identity Affirming work cultures, and having difficult conversations about issues of Race and other lines of difference.
  • Professional experience with assessing outcomes.
