Qualifications : The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for an appointment beginning in Fall 2025 as Assistant Professor of Public History, with expertise in Indigenous or Latinx History. The Department of History has 30 full-time faculty serving undergraduates and graduate students and is located on the university’s Lakeshore Campus. The person hired will teach graduate courses in public history, upper-level undergraduate courses in either Indigenous or Latinx history, and undergraduate courses in the university’s Core curriculum. The department expects this hire to deepen and complement our course and mentorship offerings in public history, which lie at the heart of our graduate curriculum, and where there are currently needs in historic preservation and oral history.
