Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and management of current student financial systems, PeopleSoft Student Financials, as well as back-up support for other financial applications, including Infor Lawson, ECSI, CBORD and future financial applications. This individual must be a self-starter and be able to utilize his / her strong background in financial business processes and information systems to increase efficiency and maximize system functionality.
Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks :
- Primary resource for the set-up and maintenance of PeopleSoft Student Financials. This includes ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of academic term setup & calendars, tuition calculation, the monthly billing process, student financials security, system auditing, and year-end processing of 1098-T's.
- Works closely with General Accounting and Bursar's Office to ensure accuracy of student accounts and proper recording of student transactions in the general ledger.
- Acts as a source of functional support : Performs preliminary troubleshooting and analysis of issues and problems; identifies and proposes business process and / or system changes / enhancements to address ongoing problems.
- Drives information process improvements throughout the finance organization, which result in increased productivity, better financial controls and / or superior business decisions.
- Proactively assists in developing accurate and meaningful financial reports using WebFocus and PowerBI, including documenting and developing automated reports for surveys such as IPEDS.
- Maintains system documentation and testing.
- Trains system users to ensure the maximum benefit of the latest technology is being realized.
- Participates in implementations and upgrades as resources are needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Education and / or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a Finance related field and two-four years of related experience.
