Position Summary

Responsible to provide accessorial paperwork (maps, export documents, dangerous goods, etc) to drivers at time of pick up.
Essential Job Functions
- Act as point of first contact at the shipping desk when calls come in, or someone checks in, at the DC.
- Provides assistance to Customers, Customer Service or other entities as requested or needed.
- Prints and maintains paperwork for each truck load and LTL trailer that is loaded by the DC. Also, verifies that drivers leave with correct export documents, hazmat paperwork, trailer number and seal number. Prints maps for the drivers.
- Supports the export coordinator in the main office and Joplin, MO, by creating and printing export documents for our Canadian shipments (2nd shift only).
- Performs shipment close, in Catalyst, on LTL small package/air and truckload shipments when complete.
- Calls LTL carriers for trailer pick up and cartage carriers/customers for dock pick ups.
- Calls out trailer moves to the shag drivers and keeps track of drivers who have checked in for their loads.
- Logs inbound trailers and containers and maintains paperwork for receiving
- Maintains live driver check in log.
- Maintains Haz-Mat file for DOT compliance.
- Provides weekend coverage, outside of normal working hours, of shipping desk when DC is working.
- Cross training and additional projects as needed
- Regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work and completing assignments
- Ability to work and interact well with others
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- None required at this time
- Up to 2 years general maintenance and/or custodial experience
- Ability to organize activities and manage time effectively.
- Intermediate PC Skills including Microsoft Word, Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with others face to face or using telephone, email, and C.B. radio.
- Working knowledge of Business Objects
- Working knowledge of Lozier Mainframe
- Working knowledge of Catalyst
- Working knowledge of how DC works and movement of freight.
- Strong bias for action; sense of urgency
- Focuses on serving customers – internal and external
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
