Position Summary:
The Fleet Specialist, LT Corp Logistics, is responsible for the end-to-end execution of all maintenance & repair processes for the LT Corp Logistics fleet. The Fleet Specialist is expected to maintain current knowledge of LT Corp Logistics’ assets, repair vendor network, and customer operations. The Fleet Specialist will ensure the safety of all equipment, demonstrate good judgment and attention to details, and deliver high levels of customer service. The Fleet Specialist reports to the Director, Logistics and is a critical role on the LT Corp Logistics team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure that equipment (trailers, chassis, containers, etc.) is utilized efficiently and that all equipment is inventoried and accounted for, including equipment not currently in use.
· Ensure safe and reliable equipment is available to meet operational requirements.
· Schedule regular maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and compliance to DOT standards. Ensure strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
· Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
· Determine necessity, arrange for, and authorize repairs of equipment in order to restore service and schedules.
· Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits on tractors and trailers and support with safety manager as needed.
· Support the Director, Logistics in the selection of equipment to minimize delivery costs, maximize delivery efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Communicate with all stakeholders (customer service, dispatch, leaders and teams) to address questions, formulate operational plans, address and resolve problems, and process requests for service or equipment.
· Maintain relationships with providers that address delivery needs.

· Work closely with the DOT Compliance Manager to ensure equipment is compliant with DOT laws and regulations.
· Quickly respond to unforeseeable issues with equipment by developing and implementing a plan of action to correct and continue operations.
· Support the logistics team as needed.
Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation working with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
· Experience working with the transportation of hazardous materials preferred
· Experience managing vendor partnerships with 3PL delivery providers preferred

Education and Certification Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Travel
Periodic travel to company or vendor sites, approximately 20%.
