Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood draw process, providing excellent patient service.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and laboratory results.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures to prevent contamination and ensure accurate test results.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of specimens.
- Educate patients on the blood collection process and answer any questions they may have regarding the procedure.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Experience
- Certification as a Phlebotomist from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting is preferred, with a focus on patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and laboratory techniques is essential for effective performance in this role.
