What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at LPAS Architecture + Design?
Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for contributing to the growth of the company by generating new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with existing clients, and fostering partnerships to expand the firm’s portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural services and industry trends, along with exceptional networking and communication skills, and may be located in either our Sacramento or Oakland office.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Business Development: Seek business opportunities for firm across all disciplines (housing, education, office) throughout Sacramento and the Bay Area (Western states preferred).
· Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and other industry stakeholders. Represent the firm at the highest level to clients, peer organizations and business associates.
· Analyses: Conduct market research to understand trends, client needs, and competitive positioning. Working with leadership, develop target list of potential clients and project opportunities.
· Strategic Positioning: Lead all go/no-go decisions; assess each potential pursuit in regard to its ability to meet the firm’s strategic positioning and goals.
· Networking: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions, developing and maintaining strong business network contacts to keep abreast of industry, client and competitor activity. Maintain a high profile in professional and community organizations.
· BD Monitoring and Reporting: Track business development opportunities via CRM (Salesforce) and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
· Internal Collaboration: Work with technical and marketing staff to help develop proposals, collaborate with the marketing team and direct training of staff on BD-related matters.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 7 years proven business development experience in the AEC field.
· Strong network of industry contacts.
· Proven track record of securing new business and driving revenue growth.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
· Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

The salary range for this position is $108,000 - $130,000. If you are hired, your base salary is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
