Job Summary
LPD Music is a B2B musical instrument, accessories & pro audio wholesaler. We sell to music retailers nationwide. This position involves start to end Accounting in terms of day to day functions of customer order approvals, journal entries, to financial statement preparation and all forms of tax compliance and reporting.
Accounting Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements.
· Prepare year end documents for outside CPA firm to review and file.
· Oversee the accounts payable/accounts receivable clerk.
· Review employee benefit plans yearly.
· Setup new customer accounts.
· Analyze and reconcile A/R and other general ledger accounts.
· Reconcile A/R cash
· Contacting customers that have a declined credit card or
· Invoicing.
· Reconciling between our accounting software and the NCR counterpoint sales software.
· Passport accounting system.
· Responsible for A/R functions including inter-company billings, tracking, reporting, and follow up.
· Enter and post customer payments into the system.
· Preparing customer checks for deposit.
· Preliminary customer contact on any past due payments.
· Enters cash receipts and other transactions into accounting system daily.
Inventory Control
· Assist with year end inventory physical count entries and help research and resolve any discrepancies.
· Adjust inventory quantities and location distribution as necessary, i.e. customer returns, post repaired merchandise or vendor shipment errors.
General Office Duties
· Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
· Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records.
· Responsible for the monthly billing of company credit cards and phone bills
· Ensure that daily/monthly/yearly closing processes are completed promptly and accurately.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of previous accounting job-related experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Experience working and managing multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in relevant computer software applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and accounting software.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy is important.
- Familiarity with calling customers that are past due on their payments.
- The ability to solve on-the-job problems and think outside the box is helpful.
- Being a team player is essential, as a small company we wear multiple hats.
- Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- E-Commerce experience helpful, but not necessary.
- Shipping experience is beneficial, but not necessary.
- Familiarity with NCR Counterpoint or Passport Business Solutions is a plus, but not required.
