LPi is looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the West Coast territory. As the ASM, you will inherit a top-notch team of veteran sellers and coach new team members to success. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and mentor a team of highly motivated Ad Sales Executives (ASEs). Your leadership will be instrumental in driving print and digital advertising sales goals. The Area Sales Manager reports directly to the National Sales Director. This position involves regular interaction with your sales team, advertisers, account staff, and internal stakeholders across the organization. This role involves significant field time working with your team members with expected overnight travel of 35% /-.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and Inspire: Hire and develop ASEs, providing one-on-one field-based training and coaching, especially within the first year of employment.
- Strategize and Execute: Lead and coach a field sales team based in CA, OR and WA. Establish sales schedules and annual assignments. Foster a positive and inclusive environment while ensuring accountability and a performance-based mindset.
- Manage and Optimize: Champion company initiatives and implement strategies for profitable sales growth, with a particular focus on driving digital advertising sales growth and meeting digital sales expectations.
- Collaborate: Partner with other sales leaders and departments within the organization to drive success.
- Engage: Cultivate a positive environment, leading your team to exceed sales goals and meeting our customers' expectations while driving sustainable, profitable growth for the region.
- Field Visits: Spend 45-55% of your time in the field working with members of your sales team, this includes both day trips and overnight travel.

Skills and Experience You Bring
- 3 years sales and management experience with the development of an outside sales team, preferably in advertising or similar industry
- Excellent people & leadership skills
- Strong ability to navigate short sales cycles and one-call-close environments
- Ability to develop and inspire: Hire and develop a diverse team of ASEs, providing one-on-one field-based training and coaching, especially within the first year of employment.
- A passion for sales and a model of persistence and achievement
- Proficiency in CRM software (i.e. Salesforce) and other sales applications, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
