Business Strategy and Innovation
This role will join the Business Strategy and Innovation (BSI) team where we unite strategy, experience, and innovation to enhance the overall client experience for advisors, large enterprises and institutions. BSI plays a critical role in everything from setting and executing on our firm’s strategic direction to developing and delivering powerful business services that help our clients succeed. With the goal of enhancing our client’s day to day experience in everything we do, we seek to proactively identify and address our clients' most significant challenges. Together, the BSI team works to establish LPL as the model of choice in Wealth Management.
Institution Growth Strategy & Business Management
Growth Strategy & Business Management is a horizontal function that identifies and executes on new growth opportunities across the channel and supports the strategic direction of the business line with partners and leaders across the Firm. This team is instrumental in allowing LPL “meet institutions where they are” so that we can personalize the growth strategy of every institution and provides strategic guidance to the business line and the Firm at large to inform future expansion of the channel.
Reporting to the Vice President of Growth Strategy and Business Management, this role is integral to elevating LPL’s position as a strategic leader for our clients and supporting the professionalization of how we run the institution business at large. You will partner with strategic leaders across LPL and our institution clients to estimate the potential impact of LPL resources on their business and set appropriately ambitious commercial goals and targets. You will also work with senior LPL business leadership to identify and size new opportunities for growth across the business line, supporting strategic decision making by adding quantifying the potential impact of actions LPL can take.
Responsibilities:
Support strategic development of the institution business line, working with the institution business line leadership team to create investment cases, solve complex challenges for clients and generally champion the institution business at the firm
Work with our largest institution wealth programs to set appropriate quantitative financial goals and targets based on the potential impact of LPL resources and solutions that we recommend to help them run and grow their business
Build self-serve “calculators” for partner teams and institution clients to estimate the impact of LPL resources and solutions independently and at scale
Develop multi-year forecasts for the institution business line, working with executives across LPL to quantify and prioritize strategic decisions that shape the future of the business
Support broader leadership and strategy teams with ad-hoc commercial analysis from isolating high-performing clients and their defining characteristics, to sizing the market for new business opportunities

Requirements:
5 years of experience in financial services or management consulting

Detail-oriented – Healthy degree of skepticism about datapoints, datasets and their origin with a compulsion to ensure you deeply understand the data you work with and the analysis you produce
Naturally curious – Ability to independently pursue new problems and assignments, even with some ambiguity at the start; enjoys working through strategic problems and forming a point of view on answers or solutions
Structured thinker – Always starts with the “big picture,” establishing a clear objective or hypothesis before diving into the data to solve problems
Natural story-teller – Strong ability to explain findings and educate partners by sharing expertise in a succinct, approachable and intuitive manner
Independent operator – Demonstrated history of sourcing, analyzing and summarizing data either in a banking or consulting context, or as a data scientist or software engineer (i.e., ability to work with technical partners and understand databases to independently source and understand data required for analysis)
