We are currently looking to hire a Closing Trust Specialist within The Private Trust Company. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service experiences, including accurate, timely and effective communication; and execution of relational and transactional activities among clients and advisors, including high‐net worth accounts, while working as a team supporting a trust officer.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis of trust documents
- Creating complex plans of distribution
- Preparing and reviewing complex accountings for closing accounts, fee reviews, court accountings, and other needs
- Create clear, concise and accurate reports and analysis for a wide range of internal partners with an emphasis on meeting internal and external reporting and analysis needs and deadlines
- Performing account closings and asset distributions
- Assist in administering trust settlements and probate settlements
- Coordinating and communicating with contra-firms and other recipients as part of the closing process
- Participating in general trust administration functions supporting a trust officer
- Coordinating requests and documentation needs with financial advisors, clients, accountants and attorneys
- Working with officers in reviewing account documentation, administration and investment policies, cash liquidity needs, historical or prospective changes in client situations or activities
- Preparation of memoranda for discretionary distributions and administrative decisioning
- Mentor and train trust specialists as needed
- Develop alternatives and recommendations to improve work processes
- Consistently meet deadlines in a fast=paced and ever-changing environment.

Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred, especially in accounting, finance or related field
- 2 years of experience in accounting, estate planning, investments, bank compliance and trust regulations such as principal and income accounting preferred.
- Technical skills – Proficient in a range of computer systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Teams Applications.

- Ability to organize, prioritize and self-start.
- Strong analytic abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work in a dynamic environment
- Must be able to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing and to articulate issues and solutions in a client relationship environment.
Preferences:
- Project and time management skills are essential.
- Attention to detail is essential
- Strong background in accounting highly preferred
- Interpersonal and problem‐solving skills
- Experience in a trust administrative role preferred
