Job Overview:
LPL’s strategy team is seeking an experienced M&A professional to join this innovative, entrepreneurial team to advance our strategic acquisition efforts. This role will support the team’s growth by cultivating new acquisition opportunities, building trust with acquisition targets, articulating LPL’s value proposition as compared to marketplace competitors, and participating in the development of LPL’s strategy by sharing key learnings and observations. This is a highly visible role, requiring collaboration with senior leaders across LPL to bring creative solutions to advance these strategic opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of large acquisition opportunities, each typically representing greater than $5B of AUM
- Ensure an exemplary experience for acquisition targets by building trusting relationships, timely responsiveness, and creative solutioning
- Collaborate with internal strategy partners to share marketplace learnings and emerging trends to inform the company’s view of opportunities and approach to innovation
- Build strong relationships with key internal partners across Finance, Legal, Integrations, Business Development and Field Management to collaborate throughout the sales process
What are we looking for?

Requirements:
- 10 years of M&A experience, either in a Sales or Corporate Development capacity, preferably in the wealth management industry
- 10 years of direct client management experience

- High emotional intelligence, with an ability to quickly build trusting relationships with senior business executives and understand the unique needs of a prospective seller.
- Results oriented and outcome based
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities within the context of a larger organization and its objectives.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability the ability persuade stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial perspective, grounded in tangible outcomes.
