Position Overview –
The Data Analyst at LPX Group will be responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data in a clear and understandable manner. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in coding, Microsoft Office products, construction project management software (ProCore, InEight), and PowerBI. This role requires effective collaboration across various departments and the ability to work independently while making data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities –
- Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from various sources to provide actionable insights.
- Present data in a clear, neat, and easy-to-understand format for various stakeholders across the LPX Group.
- Utilize coding skills to automate data collection and analysis processes where applicable.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using PowerBI to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with departments across LPX Group, including operations, finance, and project management, to understand data needs and provide solutions.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data flow and data management across the organization.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity while handling sensitive information.
- Provide training and support to team members on data tools and methodologies as needed.
- Remain current with the latest trends and technologies in data science, particularly those applicable to the construction industry.
Education and Experience –
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. Can be working towards this degree.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python or R.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and experience with PowerBI for data visualization.
- Experience with construction project management software, particularly ProCore and InEight.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the heavy civil construction industry.
- Preferred 3 years of experience in a data science or analytical role, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and statistical analysis.
